Lotto Draw Results Have New Millionaire Dancing!

Recent Saturday Lotto draw results have left a couple dancing with joy. Leicestershire couple, Terri Picton-Clark, and her husband were shocked to learn their Lotto ticket was a million-dollar winner.

Terri shared how they had been on their way to look at new kitchens on the day they purchased the ticket. They had stopped in to fill up with petrol, where John also got a Lucky Dip lottery ticket. He had said, “You never know, we might win the Lottery!”. Fortunately, this time he was right!

It wasn’t until Monday that John tried to check the ticket at the same garage. The cashier informed John that he needed to call Camelot (the lottery provider) as the prize was too much. He raced home to Terri, who was busy on a Zoom call. The couple were excited, thinking they had won £50,000 or another exciting amount. They couldn’t believe it when officials confirmed it was in fact a million dollars!

The couple celebrated by dancing around their lounge room. Terri recalled the celebrations –

The neighbours could see us jumping up and down, dancing and celebrating and asked us what we were doing. We told them about our win and they ended up celebrating with us, socially-distanced from our respective front gardens.”

How they’ll spend their winnings

After celebrating with some champagne and dancing, John started spending the winnings by giving the shop assistant who had sold his winning ticket £100. They have also generously helped their friends and family, assisting with buying a laptop for friends who were home-schooling, and for their grandchild.

As Terri is a champion ballroom dancer, the couple is looking forward to buying themselves some new clothes. Particularly, a new dress and shoes for Terri and a bespoke suit for John to wear when they can return to ballroom dancing. They are also eager to travel when it’s safe to do so – especially a ski trip or trip to Antarctica.

Congratulations to the lucky couple!

Saturday Lotto numbers were ‘heaven sent’

It may have been twelve years since this previous lucky winner had the winning Saturday Lotto numbers, but she recalls it like it was yesterday. Not only had she become an instant millionaire but she won the life-changing windfall on the anniversary of her father’s death.

Susan Crossland and her husband Michael from Mirfield won an incredible £1.2 Million back in 2009. The National Lottery recently caught up with the winners to talk about their win and how their life has changed since.

Winning Saturday Lotto numbers

She explained that she put her entry in for the Saturday Lotto draw like usual. That is, sitting around the telly while her husband was dozing behind the newspaper and Susan keeping busy with her knitting. Her entry always contained special numbers that her dad had played – a caring action, as her father had passed away. These numbers certainly were special, since they resulted in her winning £1.2 Million! Even more, this particular draw was also on the anniversary of her father’s passing and she believes that the winning Lotto numbers were ‘heaven sent’!

Where are they now?

In their catch up with officials, the couple shared that the winnings had been put to good use. In particular, they bought a purpose-built home to share with Susan’s siblings, who all require full time care.

“It’s meant we can always look after my brother and two sisters. I often feel like [my father] is looking down on us and I hope he thinks we are doing a good job of spending our win on the whole family.”The caring winner has also continued her craft of knitting and putting it to good use. She recently led a group of Yorkshire National Lottery winners in knitting hand muffs for elderly and vulnerable people.

Above all, Susan is grateful to have been able to enjoy life with her family. She shared that for her, “it’s about being together, being happy, and making memories.”

Congratulations again to the Saturday Lotto winner!

National UK Lotto Winner Shares His Wish List

A 49-year-old accountant is overjoyed after his Lotto Lucky Dip scored him an amazing £1 Million! The UK Lotto winner told officials that while he’s used to seeing large numbers for work, it was an incredible feeling to know they would soon be in his bank account.

Malcolm Haines was out shopping at a local Reading supermarket when he decided to add a few Lucky Dips for the Lotto draw to his purchase. While every player hopes to win Lotto, a win is never guaranteed. He placed them in his phone case, not thinking much of them until later that day.

Discovering the Lotto win

The father of two remembered to check his tickets just after midnight. His wife and kids had already gone to bed, but after hearing the winning sound when scanning his ticket, he knew he had to wake them up. Initially, he called for his wife, checking the Lotto results over and over again, before waking their children to share in the moment.

He may be restricted by lockdown and stock levels. However, the winner and his family won’t soon run out of ideas for spending the winnings. They shared that they stayed up until 5am after discovering the win. They discussed what they may buy and where they would travel to once restrictions ease.

Plans to treat and travel

The fun-loving dad had many plans for how he would spend his windfall. He shared that the first thing he was going to do was buy a Lego Death Star – a fantastic (and expensive) set with over 4,000 pieces! Unfortunately, the store was out of stock. Hopefully, the winner can soon get his hands on one.

The winner explained that his chosen travel destination was Vicarage Road in Watford. The close travel is sure to be exciting for Malcolm. He explained it has been nearly a year since he was allowed into football! His wife had further dreams of traveling to Perth, Australia to see a friend whom she is yet to visit.

Increase your chances of winning the lottery

Do you spend your days dreaming of becoming a millionaire? Wish you could take off on a private plane to a luxurious destination or retire early? While there is no science to winning the lottery, there are ways to give yourself the best chance. Here are some tips to increase your chances of winning the lottery.

Best tips to win the lottery

1. Play lotteries with better odds

Lottery games all have different rules and ways to play. This means that the odds of winning vary in each lottery. Some lotteries have high odds, while others give you better chances to win. Likewise, some lotteries have great odds of winning any prize across all the divisions. There’s plenty of games to consider so make sure to check out our article on which lottery has the best odds.

2. Increase the number of games played

This tip seems obvious, but the old saying is true – you’ve got to be in it to win it! The more games you play, the better chance of winning.

3. Play as often as you like

Some people choose to increase their odds of winning and play every week or as often as they can to make sure they’re in each draw. Imagine seeing your numbers come up and not having a ticket! On the other hand, some others prefer to increase their odds for one draw by saving up and playing more games in just the big jackpots.

4. Use the full range of numbers

People often choose numbers that have special meaning to them, such as anniversaries and birthdays. However, dates in a month can only go up to 31. Lotteries in the UK use a range of numbers up to 59 in some games. Don’t cut your chances short by leaving out a large section of the possible winning numbers!

5. Check your lottery results

Most importantly, remember to check your lottery results after the game and claim your prize. What good is it to increase your chances of winning the lottery if you never even find out?

Hertfordshire Syndicate Celebrates UK Lottery Results

After a tough 2020, a group of 20 women from Hertfordshire are celebrating their UK Lottery results and are now sharing in £1 Million! The syndicate of friends, who called themselves ‘The Lottery Ladies’ took out the top prize for the 19th of December 2020 Lotto draw.

The women, aged between 40 and 75, have seen some small wins over the years. However, when the syndicate leader, Shelley, logged in to the National Lottery app, she was met with something she had never experienced.

“Usually the message congratulates us on the win, but this time when I logged on it asked me to call Camelot. I decided to call – not for one second imagining the call would lead to someone confirming we’d won £1M!”

After speaking with officials, Shelley texted the other members. She asked them to sit down before sharing the news that they had won! The syndicate will share the £1 Million prize, meaning each player gets a fantastic £50,000!

Perfect timing

The timing could not have been better with Hertfordshire having just gone into Tier 4. Shelley explained that some syndicate members had just finished calls with family cancelling Christmas. While nothing can bring back that time with loved ones, the win is, “just the lift we needed going into 2021”.

The Lottery Ladies are working out how they will spend their winnings. However, plans to help out family and home improvements are high on some members’ lists.
